How we care for your child
T1D Kids Camps understands the importance of proper medical care. Our camps are supported by medical professional right from your local clinics! Doctors, Nurses, Dieticians and other CDE professional compliment our counselling staff. We preform BGMs and carb counts in cabins before each meal. When we get to meal hall we take our insulin. All diabetes care is supervised by our medical teams. We have low stations set-up around camp, and low packs carried by each cabin group. Medical staff also does overnight BGMs and treatments at 12 and 3. At camp we strive to have the same standard of care campers would receive at home. Parents can rest well, knowing medical professionals are on site at all times.
“
Sending my daughter to Camp is the only time I can leave her overnight and know that she is completely safe and taken care of. Being a parent to a child with Type 1 Diabetes is a full-time job and being able to trust other people to take on that responsibility for a week provides respite and peace of mind.
