CAMP NO MATTER WHAT!  

In these unique times we at Camp Dragonfly & Phoenix don't believe that you and your children have to wait another year for camp. That is why we are very excited and enthusiastic to be bringing you CAMP NO MATTER WHAT! Programs.

Below you will find details about our;

  • “CAMP NO MATTER WHAT!” Leadership Academy  

 One of the most important goals for us at camp is to allow all of us to connect, support and engage each other as we know that it is not always easy living with type 1 diabetes but together we are stronger!

CAMP NO MATTER WHAT! - Camper Program:

Age: Children living with type 1 diabetes between the age of 5 and 14

Date: July 12 - 25, 2020

Cost: $60 (for your camp care package)

Description: Our program intent is not on putting campers in front of the screen but rather to release multiple daily challenges and activities (from arts & craft culinary, music, nature, photography, initiative games and diabetes related themes) that they will be able to try from home at your own pace and share with us the results. We are also preparing, Themes meals, random camp surprises. We will keep that special camp feeling alive!

Evening will be focused on optional live sessions for campers, families, and friends. These sessions will include campfires, family challenges, paint night, guest presenters, etc.

As part of registering for this program your child will receive a care package that will include your 2020 Camp T-Shirt and a few other program and camp goodies that you will be able to utilize through the camp program.

 

CAMP NO MATTER WHAT! - Leadership Academy:

Age: Children living with type 1 diabetes between the age of 15 and 16

Date: July 27 - August 9, 2020

Cost: $275

Description: Our leadership program will be focused on helping & supporting youth in developing skills in leadership, team-building, communication, and problem solving, all while focusing on building a strong T1D community. The program will also give participants the knowledge and skills necessary to work and mentor children in recreational programs.

The program is developed in two stages; first is the learn and growth stage, where participants will work together and learn through a series of experiential/education sessions that focuses on the above-mentioned topics.

The second will be the try & support stage, where participant will gain an opportunity to work with mentors in a supportive environment, to gain experience working directly with children.

The online version of the program will take two week to focus on the first stage. We will not be doing full days but 2-3 hours of discussion, group works and sessions in a experiential way. You will learn gain the same knowledge and skills as if we would have been onsite. 

As for stage two we will support the participant in community based program and volunteering to gain the experience of working with kids. As we know more about our program operations there may also be an opportunity to volunteer and gain experience in a T1D Kids Camps program.
